Alabama Census Counties - 1820
1800 - 1810 - Return to S.E. States - Return to 'What's New?'

By 1820, Alabama had become a state and had several counties as Indian lands dwindled. Nathan and Margery's second family born in Alabama grew. In the 1820s, Nathan and other members began to file land claims in TN for their participation in the Creek and Cherokee Wars. Before 1830, the Kemps again moved to Hardin and McNairy Counties, Tennessee. They seemed to have completely picked up stakes and left nothing behind in AL.
