In the 1850s began the final leg of Nathan Kemp's life-long migration. He and Margery followed John Coffey Kemp and others from West Tennessee down to Hot Springs County in central Arkansas. They sought timbered lands which they subsequently logged successfully. Family tradition holds that en route Nathan admired a lovely dell around Bismark, AR. When Nathan died he was buried there in 1857.
