Return to S.E. States - Return to 'What's New?'

By 1820, a southern portion of the original Franklin County helped to form Madison County and part of the northwest was added to form Habersham County. Although Nathan would leave Franklin County around 1810, his father Edward and second wife Elizabeth remained along with Nathan's younger brother Daniel Camp, who became a prominent Georgia politician. Gwinnett and Walton Counties had formed, both being Camp family strongholds.
