Sometime around 1990, I made my first trip to the North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh, NC. There I found copies of numerous original courthouse documents pertaining to the Camps. The one that thrilled me the most was the Will of Thomas Camp III (8 Feb 1717 - 1798) of Rutherford County, NC. He was the grandfather of our Nathan Camp, the NC patriach of the SE Camp/Kemp clan.
